Protection from steam and moisture damage is a key consideration and depending on location of your laundry, noise control may also be desirable.
In modern homes the laundry is often found in the garage but for others it is incorporated into the home. To avoid mould, mildew, soggy linings and flaking paint the laundry should be designated as a GIB Dry Zone® or depending on the location of your laundry you may also want the benefit of a GIB Quiet Zone®.
BUILDING: A laundry is suited to combining a GIB Dry Zone® and GIB Quiet Zone®. Make provisions for wall mounting the dryer and ensure plumbing is as far away as possible from areas where peace and quiet is desired eg. place plumbing in the exterior walls.
RENOVATING: First remove the old linings. This is a great opportunity to add comfort by installing insulation and convenience by adding or relocating power points. Check the condition of plumbing and framing. Install a GIB Dry Zone® for protection against steam and moisture damage.
